We are honored to that you have come to us for your cardiovascular care. In order to optimize our delivery of care to you, we would like to familiarize you with our practice.
There are four physicians in the group. Donald Grandis, M.D., Daniel A. Rubin, M.D, James F. Shanahan, M.D., and Pankaj Mohan, M.D. All are University trained Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Adult Cardiovascular Diseases. Dr. Rubin is board certified in Interventional Cardiology. Drs. Grandis and Mohan are board certified in Nuclear Cardiology. We care for patients from the age of 18 years old, and older. We limit the care of our patients to cardiovascular disease. We believe that other medical problems are best cared for by your family doctor or other specialists.
We are affiliated with Jefferson Regional Medical Center and UPMC Shadyside. These provide a full range of cardiovascular care and top notch cardiovascular surgery.
There is a physician available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During the times that the office is closed, please limit calls to urgent requests or concerns.

We recommend that all patients consume a low fat, low cholesterol, and reduced salt diet. All patients should avoid any exposure to all tobacco products (including second hand smoke). Alcohol consumption should not exceed more than two drinks per day for men and one drink per day for women. Everyone should exercise (by walking, biking, swimming) at least 30 minutes at a time, five times a week. Patients should also receive the flu vaccine yearly if heart disease is known.
